Crappie

The Crappie is from the sunfish family and is found in all the lower 48 states and in Canada. Averaging up to 1 lb. and 12 inches in length but they certainly can get larger. The Crappie is one of America's best family fish. Great to catch and delicious.

Mahi-Mahi

The Mahi-Mahi is also know as the Dorado or the Dolphin fish. Found in off shore waters and sub tropics waters worldwide. The average weight is 14 to 34 lbs. They are also very fast, being recorded at over 55 mph. The Mahi- Mahi is a beautiful and delicious fish.

Tarpon

The Tarpon inhabit the warm waters of the gulf side of Florida and the West Indies. They are known to go farther north and south. The life span of the tarpon has been known to be as long as 50 years. They survive on crab and shrimp, but can also be scavengers. Watch out when fishing for the Tarpon they are known to put up a fight as they can breathe our air as well.

Red Snapper

The Red Snapper is one of the most popular and signature fish of the Gulf of Mexico. Amazingly delicious table fare. The fish grow to about 50 lbs and can live to be over 50 years old. At one time, this species was seemingly over fished, but thanks to all they are making a great comeback.

Large Mouth Bass

The Largemouth Bass is undeniably one of the most popular of all game fish in our United States of America. These fish are found in lakes, river, ponds and streams. It is always better to catch and release the Mighty Largemouth but if they swallow the hook you can swallow them.

Small Mouth Bass

Smallies will fight furiously. Some say better than the Large Mouth. The Smallmouth femme-fatales are bigger and live longer than their male counter parts. As the Smallmouth grow older their sidelines fade away. Like all Bass they never stop growing. The table fare they provide is delightful. Add in some baby carrots, pearl onions and baby potatoes.  Feast like a King over an open fire.

Peacock Bass:

The Peacock Bass is from Central to South America. This species was introduced into Florida in 1984. They prefer live bait or lures depicting wounded fish. The Peacock Bass is part of the Cichlid family. We chose the Cichla Ocellaris for our representation because of the beautiful gold and copper tones.

Northern Pike

The average size pike that is caught is approximately 20". With that being said 40" and up are not uncommon. The Northern Pike resides mainly in the Northern hemispheres. Some have said that they would rather eat the lure or bait that the Pike was caught with. We at Fishbax say with a proper preparation and a little "out of the box" culinary thinking, your camp mates will be impressed.

Striped Bass

Striped Bass are known to live from Canada to Florida. They are a coastal fish that reside in brackish water, lakes and rivers. These fish are also amazing fighters and can live up to 20 years. They can weigh in around 70 lbs and measure up to 50 + inches long.

Black Sea Bass

The Black Sea Bass can be found from Main to Florida and through the Gulf of Mexico to Texas. They spend most of their time being bottom dwellers living on man made reefs, fishing piers, jetties and bridge pilling. The maximum size is 20 inches and can weigh up to 20 lb. the Sea Bass is a great game fish to go after.

Rooster Fish

The Rooster Fish is a game fish in the east Pacific from Baja California down to Peru. The Rooster can reach lengths up to 5 ft and reach weights to 100lb. The average catch is 20 lb. but it is not recommended for eating.

Rainbow Trout

The Rainbow Trout can be found just about anywhere in North America with adults weighing 1 - 5 lb. The Rainbows colors may vary do to subspecies and regions where they live. These fish are highly popular for fly fisherman, they can be caught using spinning lures casting and trolling. The Rainbow Trout has a nutty flavor and their skin is very tender, it makes great meal.

Brook Trout

The Brook Trout can be found in many locations such as northeast North America and Canada. These fish have been introduced to Asia, Europe and Iceland. Depending where you may live in the United States the Brook Trout would be considered an invasive species, for example in Yellowstone National Park anglers can take an unlimited amount of fish and in the Lamar River a mandatory kill regulation is in affect.

Blue Marlin

The Blue Marlin can be found in the Atlantic Ocean and feeds on many different organisms. The Marlin uses it's bill to stun and injure it's prey to feed. When the Marlin reaches maturity the females can be 104 - 134 lb and the males range 77 - 97 lb. The Marlin is a popular game fish in the deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Brown Trout

The Brown Trout is native to Norway, Russia and North Africa. The Brown Trout have been introduces in the suitable environment such as North and South America. The first introduction into the United States was in 1883
